Dunedin - Stand Up for Early Childhood Education

This is a Paid Union Meeting for union members, also open to the public and supporters.
Protect our tamariki mokopuna! We don't want to see the early childhood sector, Kōhanga Reo and Puna Reo destroyed by a thousand cuts.
For tamariki to have the best start in life they need great foundations and the best possible beginning to their education journey. That’s why teachers, parents, whanau and communities fought for two decades to win respect, recognition and pay parity for teachers in early childhood education.
Now that progress is all at risk. The National, Act and NZ First coalition government has started making extreme changes in early childhood education. Their attacks include returning to bulk funding, potentially slashing the pay of tens of thousands of teachers, removing transparency, and risking children’s wellbeing by rolling back safety regulations.
Come to this public forum to find out where our MPs stand on these issues. Have your voice heard and bring someone from your whānau or community who cares too.
