- Early Childhood Regulatory Review – loosening qualified teacher requirements, scrapping compulsory curriculum standards, removing Te Tiriti obligations, and removing safety regulations that protect tamariki.
- Pay Equity – gutting the Equal Pay Act, making all pay equity claims unenforceable, including those for teachers from early childhood to secondary.
- Pay Parity – removing rules about pay for new teachers and changes to pay parity for relieving and fixed-term teachers.
- Upcoming: Education and Training Act changes for ECE and a funding review aimed at undermining quality.
It’s time to stand up for what’s best for early childhood education and the tamariki we serve.
