Charter Schools Forum
A panel discussion and Q&A on the motivation for, and impact of, the introduction of charter schools in Aotearoa.
Legislation currently being considered includes the proposal to convert public schools to private operation, allowing charter schools to employ unqualified teachers and not requiring charter schools to give effect to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Panelists include:
James Kerr (National Education Union UK) who will share the English experience of charter schools. Prof. John O'Neill of the Aotearoa Educators Collective, representatives of NZEI Te Riu Roa and PPTA Te Wehengarua.
