Mātauranga Māui - Climate Action for Educators national hui

Kia ora Climate Educators!

Our Mātauranga Māui Facebook page now has over 1000 people on it and it's time to get organised.

Despite the challenges of lockdown, I'm hoping you can join us from 7-8.15pm on Tuesday 7 September for a panel to learn about how NZEI Te Riu Roa members are approaching their climate mahi. I'll be hosting the webinar alongside Matua Takawaenga Laures Park and Barb Curran, Chair of our Mātauranga Māui Climate committee.

Members and potential members (plus other educators also interested in working on climate) are all welcome, so please spread the word.

Join us to hear from:
· Rangimokai Knuckey from Taranaki Area Council on how they have built their Climate Network and elected a convenor
· Michelle Haua from Central/East Area Council on working with tamariki using the Maramataka
· Caroline Mareko from Pasifika Leaders
· Conor Twyford, our Community Organiser.

We will then break out into 'rooms' by Area Council where you can meet colleagues also keen to progress this mahi.

If you have any questions, Conor Twyford, NZEI Te Riu Roa Community Organiser would love to hear from you: [email protected].
Stay safe out there in lockdown, and I look forward to seeing you online soon!

Ngā mihi
