Come together with your support staff colleagues for Te Whanganui-ā-Tara region's celebration of NGĀ WHĀTUI - THE ESSENTIALS. A whānau and community barbeque at Avalon Pavilion.

Ngā Whātui - The Essentials is your campaign for a school learning support funding system that works and a fair and decent offer in bargaining for your support staff, kaiārahi i te reo and therapist collective agreements.

Negotiations have started, and you need to show this Government the need for better job security, better funding, more professional development and fair pay. Members act together and this is a chance for all support staff to meet together across the region to be united. 

 

It will be an afternoon of kai (please list you and your whānau's dietary requirements), bubbles and facepainting for kids, music and a panel of your local leaders, Stephanie Mills - your NZEI National Secretary, and Kristine Bartlett - New Zealander of the Year and founder of pay equity, on bargaining and the support staff campaign. Bring your family and colleagues and let's make it clear that Support Staff are #Essential in Education.
