Primary Principals' Counter Proposal - Online Hui #2

This online hui is for Primary Principals to discuss the Primary Principals’ Counter Proposal, which your bargaining team proposes to present to the Ministry of Education / Public Service Commission in early December.

This session will provide an overview of the key elements of the counter proposal and give you an opportunity to share feedback and ask questions before it is formally presented.

We see this approach as the most logical next step towards achieving an offer and settlement that meets the needs of members and recognises the realities of principalship today.

 The full counter proposal was sent to all member primary principals via an email on Thursday 13th November. It is also available on the NZEI Te Riu Roa Principals' Facebook page and website. 

We apologise for the short notice — but as you’ll appreciate, it’s difficult to circulate documents until they have been written. Your negotiating team — who all have “day jobs” running schools — are under the same end-of-year pressures, constant change, and insufficient resourcing as every principal. This reality reinforces, once again, the need for the very changes we are proposing.
