Waikato-Cambridge Teacher & Principal Strike Action

This event is for NZEI Te Riu Roa teachers and principals and supporters based in Waikato-Cambridge to call on government to take action to get behind educators so they can better support the tamariki they teach.

NZEI Te Riu Roa Picket Action :
11:45am:
● Meet at the Town Hall - assign schools “corners” to picket and give out food / goodie bags
● Picket during lunch rush / high traffic time

Debrief / Pizza Lunch
12:45 - 1:30 pm
● 12:45pm make your way back to The Town Hall / Village Green
● Gather together to share pizza lunch

Prior to the day things to think about / prepare
- make some signs to hold/wave. We know all schools have ample amounts of paint and paper, so feel free to be creative!
- make or find some noise makers (maybe bring a pot to bang?)
- sun protection for the day. You might even want to bring your school gazebo to put up?
- school signs to identify your group to your parents more easily and to draw attention to the fact it affects the schools in our community.
- bring some hand sanitizer to wash your hands
- Principals across the country are wearing black
